Annual Community Candlelight Parade

The Annual Christmas Candlelight Parade takes place Monday, December 17 at 6:30pm in Blackville. Lineup begins at the corner of Main Street and Shaffer Lane at the former village office.

The parade will proceed up Main Street to the outdoor nativity scene at St. Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church for the blessing of the Creche and singing of Christmas carols.  Various representatives of the churches in the Blackville area will be involved in the service. Following the parade, everyone is invited to the Father AA McKinnon Memorial Hall for a time of fellowship and refreshments. Refreshments are compliments of Trinity Anglican Church Women.

Participants are asked to bring a candle – real or battery operated. All faiths are welcome and encouraged to attend this special Christmas event.

Village of Blackville

The village of Blackville is governed by an elected council made up of a mayor and four councillors. Incorporated as a village in 1966, Blackville has a population of 958 and has had a long history related to forestry and salmon fishing.
