Annual Santa Claus Parade of Lights

The Blackville Firemen’s Club hosted their Annual Santa Claus Parade of Lights on Saturday, December 7. The parade kicked off at Hooked ‘N Cooked and proceeded up Main Street to the Fire Hall, where firemen provided free hotdogs, hot chocolate and curly fries. Santa Claus was on hand to pass out treats.

First place for floats went to the Department of Transportation, receiving $250. Second place and awarded $150 was the Miramichi Fellowship Centre. Third place and the $100 prize went to T6 #neverdunn.

Winner of the firemen’s $1000 Christmas draw was Marjorie Brown.

Village of Blackville

The village of Blackville is governed by an elected council made up of a mayor and four councillors. Incorporated as a village in 1966, Blackville has a population of 958 and has had a long history related to forestry and salmon fishing.
