Blackville Community Hearts Raise Over $2,000 for Heart & Stroke Big Bike Ride

The Heart & Stroke Big Bike rolled into Blackville on Friday, September 13 as the “Blackville Community Hearts” team biked the three-and-a-half kilometer return ride from Foodland to Hooked ‘N Cooked.

The team, comprised of Foodland staff and members of the community, literally stopped traffic along Main Street as people and businesses waved them on to show their support.

Fundraising activities included a BBQ held on Friday, August 30, ticket sales for a round trip flight for two to any Westjet destination, and donations. In total, $2,248 was raised for Heart & Stroke.

Blackville Foodland managers Naomi and Clem Savoie, who organized the event, say they look forward to next years Bike Run, “Thanks to the community for all their support for this great cause. The community is welcome to be part of this event again next year.”
