Blackville Leadership Class Hosting Community 5km Walk/Run

The Blackville High School Leadership Class will be hosting their first Annual Community 5km Walk/Run on Sunday, October 29. The event kicks off at the Blackville Municipal Park at 2:00pm.

Participants will be divided by age (under 13, 14-18, 18-30, 30-50 and 50+).  Winners in each age group will get a $50 Sportchek gift card. A Fitbit Charge, donated by Blackville Trio Pizza, will also be drawn for from the list of participants.

Leadership 120 teacher Matthew Sturgeon says, “The class has worked very hard on the preparation of the event, and has gained a lot of support from local sponsors, so it would be great to get a big crowd.”

There is a cost of $10 to register for the walk, and each participant will receive a commemorative water bottle. Please visit the Facebook event page to contact Matt Sturgeon for a registration form and for more information. You can also register at the park before the run on Sunday. Proceeds will go to the local SPCA.
