Blackville School's Daniel Richard Recipient of Sports Award

Blackville High School student Daniel Richard will be honoured next week for his sportsmanship abilities in the New Brunswick Interscholastic Athletic Association. Daniel is the son of Jackie Curtis of Keenans and the late Gary Richard.

Daniel was named one of the Raymond L. Legere Recipients for the Northern Conference in A leagues. He was the recipient for the boys A Northern Conference for his involvement in soccer, basketball and volleyball.

The award is named for Raymond Legere, a physical education teacher and coach.

The New Brunswick Interscholastic Athletic Association will hold its 12th Annual Sportsmanship Awards Banquet on Tuesday, May 9th, 2017 at St. Thomas University in Rigby Hall in Fredericton.

The village of Blackville is governed by an elected council made up of a mayor and four councillors. Incorporated as a village in 1966, Blackville has a population of 958 and has had a long history related to forestry and salmon fishing.
