Country Blend to Perform Tribute Concert in Blackville

countryblendThe Whooper Spring Players Theatre Group will be hosting a roast beef dinner which will include live entertainment by cover band, Country Blend.

The event will be held on Sunday, October 9, and will be used as a fundraiser for the upcoming Christmas production.

“It puts some money towards our group, our big one is at Christmas time so it helps pay for our props and things like that,” said Velvet Gilks, one of the founders of Whooper Springs Players.

She said money the group raises is also given back to the community through investment in various projects.

Country Blend is a five person Manitoba-based band who perform cover songs from various country music legends such as Johnny Cash, George Jones, Patsy Clines, Loretta Lynn and more.

This will be Country Blends second time performing for the roast beef dinner, as they came in 2014.

The roast beef dinner and concert will be held at the United Church Centre, 143 Main St, in Blackville and will cost $25. Tickets can be purchased by contacting Richard or Alice Gilks at 506-843-6139.

our Ladies are trying to raise money for our many projects.
In the past we have had pie socials, rummage sales, etc.
We are thinking we should have a Show & Dinner in the middle of October/2017. We are wondering what it would be the cost to have Country Blend come to Weyburn Sask. & perform for our event. I await your reply.
