Dungarvon ATV Club Hosts Youth Training Program


Concerned club members and executive of the Dungarvon ATV Club recently planned and hosted a training program for children ages 6-15 to learn the proper skills of driving an ATV.

Thirteen children with their parents participated, and training coordinator Jacques Poirier from B Federation and the Canadian Off-Highway Vehicle Distributors Council, a recognized training program throughout North America, spent two days teaching proper skills for driving and riding ATV’s.

The children received hats and will receive a certificate of achievement if they successfully completed the course.

LeRoy Stewart, president of the  Dungarvon ATV Club and Regional Director of Region 4 NBATV Federation, said another course will be held again when there is sufficient interest, “This course has merit and will help save lives. ”

The village of Blackville is governed by an elected council made up of a mayor and four councillors. Incorporated as a village in 1966, Blackville has a population of 958 and has had a long history related to forestry and salmon fishing.
