EMO Update: Warming Centre and Free BBQ

office

Letter from Blackville Mayor Chris Hennessy

Good Morning.  As we all know some are still without power in and around our village. I would like to remind everyone that there are still warming/charging areas available to the public. These areas include the Blackville Fire Hall, and also Blackville Municipal Office. They both are equipped with public washrooms and kitchens.

The Fire Hall was designed and constructed for events like this, including back up power and showering facilities.
Everyone seems to be dealing with the situation as best as possible, however if you are in need please don’t be shy. The facilities are there to be used.

My personal cell is 627 9142, if you need a drive to the warming stations, or need water/food taken to you please let me know and it will be taken care of.

There will be a free BBQ today (Saturday, January 28) at the Blackville village office (12 South Bartholomew Rd) from 1-4pm for anyone needing a warm meal! Also free to charge devices or anything else you may need. **For Blackville and all surrounding areas** If you need a drive call me at 627-9142 .
Thanks

Thank you all for your patience, we can and will get through this together.

Your friend

Hi I’m originally from Keenans. I live in Hampton now. My hat goes of to you. That’s how a community should work.

I am wondering about Grace Snook who lives in the apartments near the Municipal office. I am her brother in Alberta and I just tried phoning her with no answer.

I saw Grace yesterday at the grocery store. The apartments have not been affected by the power outages.
