Federal Election Information 2021: Miramichi-Grand Lake

Election day in Canada is Monday, September 20, 2021. Voting for our riding of Miramichi-Grand Lake will take place at the United Church Center, 143 Main Street in Blackville between the hours of 8:30am and 8:30pm. Please note, this information is valid for residents of Blackville. If you reside in another community in the riding of Miramichi-Grand Lake, please refer to your Voter Information Card that was sent to you by mail or visit www.elections.ca for more information.

Advance voting will take place at the Blackville Community Centre, 12 South Bartholomew Road on Friday September 10, 2021, Saturday September 11, 2021, Sunday September 12, 2021 and Monday September 13, 2021 between the hours of 9:00am and 9:00pm.

Candidates for the riding of Miramichi-Grand Lake are:

  • Patty Deitch (Green Party of Canada)
  • Lisa Harris (Liberal Party of Canada)
  • Ron Nowlan (People’s Party of Canada)
  • Bruce Potter (New Democratic Party)

The village of Blackville is governed by an elected council made up of a mayor and four councillors. Incorporated as a village in 1966, Blackville has a population of 958 and has had a long history related to forestry and salmon fishing.
