Firearm Safety / Hunter Education Course

There will be a Firearm Safety / Hunter Education Course held at Blackville School starting Monday, September 11. The course runs for five days and will be held from 6:00pm to 10:00pm each night. Applicants must be at least 12 years of age to attend.

The course fee is $40 for youth ages 12 – 16 years. For registrants 17 years and older, the fee is $95.

Registration is required and spaces are limited. Please call the DNR office in Doaktown at 365-2001 to register. You will need to register before 5:00pm on Monday, September 11.

In New Brunswick, all first-time hunters as well as persons born on or after January 1, 1981, are required to complete Firearm Safety/Hunter Education training before they may hunt in the province.

The village of Blackville is governed by an elected council made up of a mayor and four councillors. Incorporated as a village in 1966, Blackville has a population of 958 and has had a long history related to forestry and salmon fishing.
