In-School Mentors Needed for Blackville School

In-School Mentors are needed for Blackville School. The In-School Mentoring program is about learning from each other and growing together – and it’s all done through doing fun activities. Spend one hour, once a week, playing board games, making crafts, or hitting the playground.

It allows volunteer mentors (Bigs) to share time with a child (Little) in their school during the school-day. This program is for kids between the ages of 5 and 14 who need extra support and friendship. Mentors must be 18 years of age or older.

The village of Blackville is governed by an elected council made up of a mayor and four councillors. Incorporated as a village in 1966, Blackville has a population of 958 and has had a long history related to forestry and salmon fishing.
