James "Jimmy" Keenan to be inducted to Softball NB Hall of Fame

Softball New Brunswick Inc. have announced their Hall of Fame class for 2018. The inductees include three athletes, two builders, two teams and one lifetime contributor.

James (Jimmy) Keenan of Blackville began playing in the local Intermediate men’s league at the age of 15 and quickly moved up to play Senior ball with Loggieville and the Nelson Hi-Lo Schooners. Jimmy’s reputation as a pitcher who could give his team a chance to win every game was remarkable and respected by the competition throughout his Senior and Intermediate career. Jimmy competed at numerous Canadian, Eastern and Master Championships winning a variety of medals.

Other inductees include players Randy Bell and Jeremy Tracy, builders Bev Adams and Merle Doyle Jr., lifetime contributor John Waite and the Hoyt Schooners Softball Club and Northrup Raiders Fastball Club for teams.

The Induction Ceremonies will take place April 21, 2018 at the Fredericton Inn, Fredericton, NB. The evening begins at 5:30pm with a reception followed by dinner at 6:30pm and awards to follow.
