Living Works “Start” Program

The Miramichi Addiction, Mental Health & Suicide Prevention Committee recognizes the need to have gatekeepers in various communities across our region. A gatekeeper’s role is to be able to recognize that an individual may be at risk of suicide, ask about suicide in a clear, calm and direct manner, state that suicide is serious and connect a person with thoughts of suicide to life-saving help. The dynamic, interactive 1 – 3 hours online training provides a high-impact learning experience.

The Miramichi Addiction, Mental Health & Suicide Prevention Committee has purchased licenses from Living Works Inc. and invites individuals from within our region to attend the online training free of charge. The training is at one’s own pace and time. The training is currently only available in English.

Please call 623-3574 or email for more information or to get registered for the free online training.

PLEASE NOTE: Gatekeepers do not provide counselling but rather recognize someone may need support and link them to the appropriate resources within our region.
