Local Food Bank to Observe Hunger Awareness Week


The Greater Blackville Resource Centre invites you to join them in observing Hunger Awareness Week from Monday, September 19 to Friday, September 23.

Local events include:

  • Tuesday, September 20 – Soup’s On at United Church Hall at noon
  • Wednesday, September 21 – Regular Food Bank Distribution 10am to 4pm
  • Thursday, September 22 – Soup’s On at Father AA McKinnon Memorial Hall at noon
  • Thursday, September 22 – Annual General Meeting of the GBRC at 7pm at Upper Blackville Baptist Church, Howard Road. All welcome to attend.
  • Friday, September 23 – Fill a Van at Blackville Foodland – donations for the local food bank will be received.
  • Friday, September 23 – Cake and coffee at Blackville Credit Union.

The village of Blackville is governed by an elected council made up of a mayor and four councillors. Incorporated as a village in 1966, Blackville has a population of 958 and has had a long history related to forestry and salmon fishing.
