Outdoor Basketball Court Project Challenge and Update

The Blackville Rec Council would like to thank those who have donated thus far towards the outdoor basketball court project. Over $14,000 has been raised to date.

Thank you to Matt Sturgeon who has donated $100 in memory of his father Fenton Sturgeon. Matt challenges others who Fenton coached, coached with or even coached against to make a donation in his name as well.

In a post on Facebook, Matt noted, “Dad loved basketball, and he loved this community. I can’t think of any better tribute to him than to make a contribution to this initiative, because if he were still around, I know he would be leading the charge on this!”

E-transfers can be sent to .

Thank you also goes out to PC candidate Mike Dawson for his recent donation of $200 and to Daniel Richard for helping out with 50/50 draws.

Donations towards the Rec Council’s basketball court project can be made at the Blackville village office, 12 South Bartholomew Road. The office is open on Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Cheques can be made payable to the Blackville Recreation Council. E-transfers can be sent to .
