Provincial Government Investing $35,000 to Blackville Park Splash Pad Project

BLACKVILLE (GNB) – The provincial government is investing $35,000 towards the installation of a splash pad in Blackville.

“Your government is proud to invest in important recreational community projects such as this splash pad in the Village of Blackville,” said Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Bill Fraser, who is also minister responsible for the Regional Development Corporation.

The splash pad will be in the village’s municipal park. Work on the project is expected to start this summer.

“We are proud to have the Province of New Brunswick as our partner ‎as we continue to create healthy recreational opportunities for the children and families presently in the Village of Blackville,” said Mayor Christopher Hennessy.

The village of Blackville is governed by an elected council made up of a mayor and four councillors. Incorporated as a village in 1966, Blackville has a population of 958 and has had a long history related to forestry and salmon fishing.
