Fresh4Less

Fresh4Less is a non-profit, fresh produce buying service created to help Northumberland County access affordable fresh fruits and vegetables.

How much does the program cost?

Fresh4Less members pay a one-time $5 registration fee and $15 per month for an order of fresh produce. People save half of what it would cost if the produce was purchased in a grocery store because it's purchased in bulk.

What is included in the order?

The order, available for pick-up on the second Wednesday of each month, contains three types of vegetables and three fruits.

Basic staples include potatoes, onions, carrots, apples, oranges and bananas. The order is also supplemented by whatever fresh local produce is seasonally available from the two wholesalers the Northumberland Food Security Network is working with in purchasing the items.

Where do I pickup my order? How do I register?

The Blackville pick-up location is at the Greater Blackville Resource Centre. You can pick up your order on the second Wednesday of each month between 4:00pm and 6:00pm. To register for the Fresh4Less program, contact Joy Underhill at 843-9024 or Michelle Davidson-Legere at 626-0235 or by email at . The deadline for Fresh Box is the first Wednesday of each month.

The program was launched October 4, 2016.
