Village of Blackville Hosts Annual Seniors Supper

The Village of Blackville hosted their annual senior’s supper on Monday, September 19 to a packed house at Saint Andrew’s United Church Centre.  A full turkey supper and dessert was served by GF Catering.

Eric & Debbie provided the evening’s entertainment – a big hit with the crowd.

Nearly one hundred fifty people were in attendance, and takeouts were also provided to those who were unable to attend. Door prizes were awarded to Doris Coughlan, Winslow Peterson, Leroy Stewart, Don Underhill, Joan Underhill and Rita Walls.

This annual event is provided free of charge to seniors 65 years of age and older who live within the village limits.

The village of Blackville is governed by an elected council made up of a mayor and four councillors. Incorporated as a village in 1966, Blackville has a population of 958 and has had a long history related to forestry and salmon fishing.
