Village of Blackville Municipal Election Results

The polls have closed for the remainder of the province of New Brunswick and the residents of Blackville have elected a new village council.  Ian Fortune has been appointed Mayor with a total of 365 votes. Mayoral candidate Eric Walls received 187 votes.

The elected councillors are Denver Brennan with 385 votes, Cindy Underhill (inc.) with 367 votes, Cindy Ross (inc.) with 361 votes and Amanda Brennan (inc.) with 346 votes.

Congratulations to the new mayor and council.

The results for the remaining council candidates are as follows: William (Willie) Walls with 265 votes and Albertine LeBlanc with 194 votes.

The village of Blackville is governed by an elected council made up of a mayor and four councillors. Incorporated as a village in 1966, Blackville has a population of 958 and has had a long history related to forestry and salmon fishing.
