Village of Blackville to recognize National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

The Village of Blackville will be recognizing the federally proclaimed National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Thursday, September 30 as a statutory holiday for municipal employees. The village office will be closed that day.

By marking National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, village employees will have an opportunity to honour the day, and reflect on its importance to the country’s past, present, and future.

The village of Blackville is governed by an elected council made up of a mayor and four councillors. Incorporated as a village in 1966, Blackville has a population of 958 and has had a long history related to forestry and salmon fishing.
