Applications for low-income seniors’ benefit now available

To assist low-income seniors in New Brunswick, the government offers an annual benefit to qualifying applicants.

Applications for the 2022 Low-Income Seniors’ Benefit are now available.

Eligible New Brunswickers are encouraged to apply online or print the application, complete it and mail it to Finance and Treasury Board, Revenue Administration Division, PO Box 1900, Fredericton, N.B., E3B 5G4.

The application deadline is December 31, 2022.

To be eligible for the $400 benefit, a person must have been a resident of New Brunswick on December 31, 2021, and have received one of the following federal benefits under the Old Age Security Act:

  • Guaranteed Income Supplement (65 or older);
  • Allowance for Survivor Program (between 60 and 64); or
  • Allowance Program (between 60 and 64).

The village of Blackville is governed by an elected council made up of a mayor and four councillors. Incorporated as a village in 1966, Blackville has a population of 958 and has had a long history related to forestry and salmon fishing.

    When would we think the ‘senior low income’ benefit could arrive, filled form out near first of April? Thank you
